Gusty

At countless points in our lives, we are all walking by ourselves…drawing out the desire in others, probably not purposefully, with our rays of mystery exuding toward their souls.

The wind makes me feel angst. I thought this feeling would be left behind with the onset of legal voting, but not when the gusts are 33 mph. I wonder how I am going to feel resolved on a day like today. If I can get some work completed before going to work, then probably so. I am attempting to train myself to never put my hands up to my face. Life is healthier that way and skin clearer. I need to get out of college. I think that and then at the same time, or perhaps a slight second after, I decide I am scared to get out of this cool comfort hole I’ve dug and decorated over the past three years. “Abilene, Abilene, prettiest town I ever did see, the girls aren’t even mean in Abilene.” This morning I found myself wondering why a man decided to write that lyric about this place. Maybe my senior year will be themed as the art of climbing out of the hole gracefully with thankfulness and stars in my eyes for what’s next. Whatever the case, this summer will bring positive change in me and that is a great start.
